The UNIDEN UBCD356-pt P25 scanner.

This scanner developed a faulty rotary encoder and I had to replace it.
The closest equivalent was ALPS EC11B152420G-STEC11B01 Rotary Encoder, Mechanical, Incremental, 15 PPR, 30 Detents, Horizontal, With Push Switch from the Element 14, parts warehouse.
It is electrically equivalent but mechanically slightly different. The shaft isn't a 'D' and the pins not strictly PCB. But still I managed to overcome this.
There are none that match the exact physical equivalent. I tried to order one from Uniden and their Australian partner, got crickets.
The encoder was a bit difficult to get out but luckily the board has a PCB plug. Works great again.
